Bruce Rasmussen and the impact he has made on local and nearby communities has earned him the prestigious Mercy Heritage Award for Business. His drive for excellence can be seen as far back as his tenure at Iowa State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He followed this with a return to Council Bluffs, helping his father expand Rasmussen Mechanical Services into a team of more than 200 with locations covering 12 states.

In 2016, Council Bluffs Schools paid homage by naming the new baseball field at the Council Athletic Complex “Bruce Rasmussen Field.”
