Bruce Rasmussen: Recipient of the Mercy Heritage Award for Business

Bruce Rasmussen and the impact he has made on local and nearby communities has earned him the prestigious Mercy Heritage Award for Business. His drive for excellence can be seen as far back as his tenure at Iowa State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He followed this with a return to Council Bluffs, helping his father expand Rasmussen Mechanical Services into a team of more than 200 with locations covering 12 states.

Rasmussen’s impact expands further than business, as he has been recognized for his many community contributions. An executive board member of the Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce, Council Bluffs YMCA board of directors member and much more. In 2016, Council Bluffs Schools paid homage by naming the new baseball field at the Council Athletic Complex “Bruce Rasmussen Field.”
