Complete Boiler Retube And Refractory Repairs

City Floral Garden Center runs a Kewanee firetube boiler to keep their green houses warm during Denver's cold winters. The tubes in this boiler had heavy scale on them, and the refractory at the burner and the back of the boiler needed to be replaced.

Our Denver Boiler Repair team cut out all 98 tubes and brushed the boiler clean. There was so much scale in the belly of the boiler that we brought in a vacuum truck to get it out. Then we rolled in 98 new tubes and hydro tested the boiler to make sure nothing leaked. The work was done to National Board (NBIC) and state code.

Next we replaced the refectory. The old rear plug came out and a new factory plug went in. We tore out the old burner cone, pounded in new refractory, and cured it.

The boiler is on a maintenance agreement with us now and every year we open it up for the state inspection, put in new gaskets, run the CSD-1 safety checks, and tune the burner.
