Customer’s rely on RMS to perform maintenance tasks during planned plant outages. For this project it included removing 494 boiler tubes that were nearly 30 ft long.
To increase the boiler’s efficiency, rifled (XID) boiler tubes were installed mechanically and then welded to ensure a proper seal. The boiler was hydrostatically tested and witnessed by an Authorized Inspector.
The boiler was then boiled out, tuned for optimal efficiency, and brought back online with our Burner Services Division.
- Successfully repaired a fire-tube boiler with 494 tubes that measured 28.75 ft in length.
- Repairs were completed during the planned plant outage.
- The repair met all NBIC and ASME requirements.
