Rasmussen Mechanical’s Omaha Boiler Repair team recently completed a full boiler retube for Mutual of Omaha to address tube deterioration. The project began with the removal of 273 damaged tubes, followed by brushing and cleaning of accessible areas to remove loose scale and debris. Once the tube sheet was prepped, we installed 273 new SA-178-A tubes (2.5″ OD x 0.105″ min wall x 170″ length), rolled and seal welded them in place. A successful hydrostatic test was performed to confirm system integrity, and a full boil-out was completed prior to returning the boiler to service. All work was performed in compliance with NBIC requirements and applicable state codes.
