Project Details

Rasmussen Mechanical Services completed a comprehensive Temperature Controls project for Pennington County Housing, upgrading automation and major mechanical components across Jackson Heights, River Ridge, and Valley View locations. The project empowers facility staff with centralized control and monitoring capabilities for all major equipment. Key project highlights included:

Building Automation System Upgrades:
Installed Honeywell DDC controls, enabling remote monitoring and management of HVAC systems across all three sites.

Major Equipment Repairs and Replacements:
This effort addressed all key deficiencies found during the initial controls assessment, including:

  • Demolition of a 1.2 MBH Lochinvar Copper Fin boiler and related piping
  • Installation of a 1.0 MBH Riello Array 98% efficient condensing boiler
  • New gas, hydronic, and vent piping, with pipe insulation

Replacement of critical components, including:

  • 9 burners
  • 2 gas valves
  • 2 ignition controls
  • 2 time delay modules
  • 4 hot surface ignitors
  • 1 combustion fan
  • 2 120V relays
  • 2 24V relays

Start-up & Commissioning:
Factory-authorized start-up and full commissioning were performed to ensure reliable and efficient operation of all systems.

This project represents a significant upgrade in both operational efficiency and long-term serviceability for Pennington County Housing.
