Acid Wash 300hp Miura Boiler

Rasmussen Mechanical Services completed a specialized acid wash and waterside cleaning service on one of the facility’s 300 HP Miura boilers to address internal scale buildup and restore efficient heat transfer performance.

The scope of work included introducing approved cleaning chemicals into the boiler and temporarily installing a recirculation pump system to circulate the solution throughout the vessel. This controlled circulation process allowed the acid wash to break down and remove accumulated scale from the boiler’s waterside surfaces.

After a 24-hour cleaning cycle, the boiler was thoroughly flushed to remove loosened deposits and residual chemicals. A complete boilout procedure was then performed to further clean and condition the waterside of the pressure vessel, ensuring the system was left in a safe and operational state.

This service helps improve boiler efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and extend the life of the equipment by maintaining clean internal heating surfaces and proper water-side conditions. Shoutout to our Seward Boiler Repair team for the great work!
