Boiler System Upgrades

Rasmussen Mechanical Services completed the removal and replacement of a Lochinvar hot water boiler in Building 3 at Pfizer in Boulder.

The new installation included a Lochinvar Commercial Copper-Fin natural gas boiler, rated at 745,000 BTU/hr with 84% thermal efficiency and configured for high-altitude operation. The boiler features sealed combustion with fan assist, stainless steel burners, copper finned tube heat exchanger, outdoor reset control, high and low manual reset gas pressure switches, adjustable pump relay with delay, manual reset high limit, hot surface ignition, 50# PRV, flow switch, T&P relief valve, combustion air filter, freeze protection, and full CSD-1 compliance (M13 standard).

The system includes an 8” flue connection, 1-1/4” gas connection, 2” NPT water connections, and 24V electronic temperature control system. Following installation, the boiler was tested and placed into operation to ensure reliable hot water production and safe system performance.
