New Waste Water Boiler Installation

Rasmussen Mechanical Services installed two low-pressure steam boilers in the south building of the wastewater treatment plant at Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. Each boiler is rated at 25 BHP, 15 PSI, and 862 lbs/hr, featuring high/low firing rates, natural gas operation, and full CSD-1 compliance.

The project included installation of a new drop header complete with valves, strainers, and steam trap, along with routing of new gas and water lines from existing connections within the wastewater building. A new three-inch low-pressure steam line was tied into the existing steam system, and all new steam piping was insulated.

Additional scope included re-routing condensate from the water heater to an existing condensate tank relocated next to the new boilers, installation of new flue stacks through the roof with rain caps, electrical power routing to the new boiler location, full startup and commissioning, and removal of the existing boilers.

The system was placed into operation to provide reliable, efficient steam production for the wastewater treatment facility. Shoutout to our Sioux Center Boiler Installation team for the great work!
