Boiler Tube and Refractory Repair

Sweetwater Cattle Co is a feed yard in Kearney. Their firetube boiler supplies steam to the two grain flakers. This boiler needed tubes replaced and the refractory in the rear turnaround rebuilt.

Our Kearney Boiler Repair team cut out the leaking tubes, rolled and beaded in new 2-1/2" tubes, and hydro tested the boiler. The tube work was done to NBIC and state code.

On the rear turnaround, we knocked out all the old refractory and poured a new top bridge, which takes 24 hours to cure. We set new tiles from Superior that were made for this boiler. We also knocked out the rear plug, put in new steer horns, and re-poured the plug. When all of it was in, one of our burner techs cured the refractory out.
