Project Details
Rasmussen Mechanical Services completed a triple burner retrofit for the University of Nebraska at Kearney’s central plant. The project involved the removal and disposal of existing Webster burners, burner plates, refractory cones, and associated materials. Two new Limpsfield LCN123 (37.8MBTUH) natural gas burners and one LCN63 burner were installed, along with new adapter plates, refractory cones, and updated wiring and gas piping.
Additional scope included replacement of boiler floats, wiring, and Schedule 80 seamless steel piping with forged threaded fittings, all documented per code with material tracking reports. Existing door insulation was replaced with new high-temperature insulation, stainless steel screens, keepers, and pins. Each boiler received new flat glass gauge assemblies, tri-cock assemblies, and Autoflame TDS probes with automatic top skimmer assemblies. The project concluded with system startup, burner tuning, and operator training. Shoutout to our Kearney Boiler Repair Team for the great work!
