Boiler Refractory Repair And Burner Controls Upgrades

Rasmussen Mechanical Services completed multiple boiler system upgrades at Wholestone Farms to restore refractory integrity, improve burner performance, and modernize combustion controls. Shoutout to our Fremont boiler team for the great work!

Scope of Work Included:

• Demolition and replacement of boiler casing, insulation, and refractory on the rear wall, steam drum, convection section, burner wall, and burner cone to address hot spots

• Installation of new refractory and casing, followed by a controlled bake-out to ensure proper curing

• Removal and reinstallation of the burner to replace the refractory burner cone and gas manifold

• Fire-side sealing around the new burner cone

• Burner startup and combustion tuning on natural gas

• Upgrade of Boiler controls from an Autoflame MK7 to an MK8 controller

• Replacement of oxygen interfaces and pressure sensors to support MK8 controls

• Commissioning and combustion tuning on both fuels

• CSD-1 safety device testing and operator training

These upgrades improved boiler reliability, safety compliance, and long-term performance for Wholestone Farms’ steam operations.
